What arrives
- New explainers. The plain-English pieces we publish on qubits, error correction, algorithms and the hardware people are actually building.
- Milestones that are real. When a company announces a chip or a result, the email says what changed and what did not. Press releases rarely make that distinction; we try to.
- Corrections. If we get something wrong and fix it, the people who read the wrong version hear about it.
That is the whole list. No sponsored blasts, no affiliate round-ups, no “quick question” follow-up sequence.

What happens after you press Subscribe
We send one message asking you to confirm. Nothing else is sent, and your address does not join the list, until you open that email and click the link inside. This is deliberate: it means nobody can sign up an address they do not own, and it means every address on the list belongs to somebody who chose to be there.
If the confirmation email does not arrive within a few minutes, check the spam or promotions folder. It comes from office@quantumexplainer.com. If it is genuinely missing, tell us and we will look at the sending log.
Requests that are never confirmed are deleted after fourteen days. We do not keep an address that never agreed to be kept.
Leaving, and what we hold
Every message carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and it works immediately. You do not have to reply, log in, or explain yourself. If you change your mind later, you can sign up again here at any time.
What we store is the address itself, the date you subscribed, and a truncated form of the IP address the request came from, which is the record that consent was given. When your personal link to the free guide is used, we note that it was downloaded. We do not track whether you open the emails or click their links, we do not enrich the address with anything, and we never sell, rent or share the list. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
The list runs on our own server through a self-hosted mailing plugin, so the addresses are not handed to a third-party marketing platform.
